Astrology as Guidance
The purpose of astrology is not simply to predict events. Its deeper value lies in guidance.
01 · Our Approach
Past → Present → Future
When a person comes for a consultation, we first examine whether the horoscope is consistent with the major experiences that have already occurred in the person's life.
Our approach is therefore to use traditional Vedic principles as the foundation and to examine them against observed experience.
Predictions Based on the Horoscope →§ 02 — The projection
A chart keeps one number out of all this.
Drag it to turn it
The grahas do not sit on a circle. They sit where they sit — at different distances, at different heights above the plane of the ecliptic, on orbits of their own. A chart keeps exactly one quantity out of that arrangement: the direction each body lies in, seen from here. Everything else is thrown away.
Tonight’s arrangement, seen from above the ecliptic. The red lines leave the Earth, pass through each graha, and meet the ring at the degree the table below prints for it — that meeting is the whole of what a chart records. Two liberties, both taken deliberately: orbit radii are square-root compressed, because at true scale Shani is twenty-four times further out than Budha and the inner system is four pixels wide; and the bodies are drawn far larger than they are, because at scale they would be invisible. Every angle — the only quantity a chart actually uses — is untouched.
