The Journey Behind BHavishyology
Mr. Subrahmanya Bhat, founder of BHavishyology, has been practising Vedic astrology for over three decades.
He comes from the Kulamarwa family of the Mangalore region, a family with a long-standing tradition of practising astrology across several generations. His understanding of astrology has been shaped by the teachings and guidance of his family gurus, along with years of observing, practising and applying the principles of traditional Vedic astrology.
His approach brings together traditional knowledge and a systematic, analytical way of thinking.
Rather than treating astrology simply as a means of making predictions, Mr. Bhat believes in understanding the principles behind a horoscope and explaining how and why a particular prediction, remedy or spiritual practice is prescribed.
Tradition with a Questioning Mind
The foundation of BHavishyology is traditional Vedic astrology, while its approach to interpretation is guided by observation, reasoning and a desire to understand the underlying principles.
This applies not only to predictions, but also to Parihara and remedial practices.
When a remedy is prescribed, the objective is to understand its astrological basis, the deity or planetary principle involved, the manner in which it should be performed, and the reasoning behind its prescription.
This approach seeks to bring greater clarity to an area of astrology that is often followed without understanding.
Towards a More Systematic Astrology
One of Mr. Bhat's long-term goals is to promote the genuine study and application of Vedic astrology through careful observation and documentation.
BHavishyology aims to systematically document:
Astrological predictions and their eventual outcomes
Remedies that are prescribed and the circumstances in which they are performed
The results observed after remedies
The principles and reasoning connecting the horoscope, prediction and remedy
Over time, this growing body of observations can help examine the principles of Vedic astrology through consistent documentation, observation and analysis.
The intention is not merely to make claims about astrology, but to observe, record, question and learn from results.
The Vision of BHavishyology
BHavishyology seeks to bring together the wisdom of a traditional astrological lineage with a disciplined approach to observation and documentation.
The vision is to encourage people to explore Vedic astrology with greater understanding — not simply asking “What will happen?”, but also asking:
“Why does the horoscope indicate this?” “Why is this particular remedy prescribed?” “How is the remedy connected to the astrological principle?” “What happens when the remedy is performed?”
Through this approach, BHavishyology hopes to contribute towards a deeper and more systematic understanding of Vedic astrology as a traditional science of observation and interpretation.
